Citizens Advice offer a free Consumer Service which provides initial advice on consumer matters relating to goods or services.  Use a member of the Business Approval Register to find a business you can trust when buying goods or services.

Financial Ombudsman Service is an independant statutory organisation with jurisdiction to resolve complaints about any financial services including insurance and investment products, banking and credit.  Their services are free to consumers. 

Illegal Money Lending Team deal with problems associated with loan sharks. Loan sharks are people who provide unlicensed credit.  This is against the law, and can cause substantial harm.  The Illegal Money Lending Team can support you, provide advice and assistance to help resolve the issues.  They can also take action to stop the loan sharks’ activities.

Financial Conduct Authority are the regulators for those deliver consumer credit products and services.  All such businesses must be authorised by the FCA.   You can check authorisations directly with the FCA.
